That’s probably the best approach. (I’d have to go digging, but I think I might have most of an early one). Otherwise, you are going to need to custom fabricobble a linkage rod. My 1951 truck has a later engine and was already fabricobbled for me. I can take a pic for some inspiration if you choose to do it that way.
