I did similar with a floor jack. 2 boards on each side of the pipe clamped together. Run 2 1x4 next the pipe and have below the bend level to sit on the jack pad. My floor jack extended outside the truck so I can lift and lower. Highly recommend the Remflex 2027 Exhaust Gasket. I did not use the alignment rings. There are guide pins on each end of the block.
