The black engine with gray valve cover is a 50-52 235. As Lincoln commented, that is a 3-year only design. It will have babbitted rods with dippers and oil nozzles to lube the rods. On the driver side there should be a small kidney shaped metal cover - that’s the oil distributor. Only on the low oil pressure engines.
