I have installed this kit on my ‘59 235 in my ‘52 3100. You will need to buy a water pump for a ‘53 216. I included a picture of mine.

Does it have to be specifically a 1953 pump? I thought any 216 pump would do as long as the pulley was the right belt width for one's balancer.
