| Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,792 | The problem with swapping carburetor components such as main bodies and throttle housings will be making sure the drilled passages and the gaskets between then align properly. You might end up ruining both carbs if you try a swap. It would probably be a better choice to slot the holes in the existing throttle body. That will allow the carb to be installed on manifolds with either stud spacing. There's still the possibility that the internal calibration will not be correct for your engine. I've seen YF carbs that come from the factory with a slotted throttle body housing. Use SAE type flat washers to cover the top of the slotted housing to make sure the nuts secure the carb to the manifold properly. Jerry
