Generally speaking...a couple of things: water doesn't have to be hot. That helps if your float has smaller holes. Two: if your float is leaking it will have gas (and/or water) in it. Shake it back and forth and see if you hear anything. Please help me catch back up. At one time you had a Rochester carburetor and at another time I think you may have mentioned getting a Carter carburetor. Which do you have at this point?
