All the light duty 4 speeds without granny low were initially produced for cars. That would include Saginaw, Muncie, Borg-Warner, New Process, and the T-5 overdrive that's the current fad. None of them were designed to do truck stuff, but they can be used to drive a Cowboy Cadillac pickup around with an iced-down Yeti cooler strapped into the bed to a tailgate party somewhere.
