I recently purchased an engine from a friend, it came from his '50 3100. We knew it wasn't the original 216, but thought it was a replacement 235. I got the engine home and unload it the other evening. This afternoon I was finally able to really look at the engine. Of course the first thing I noticed was the valve cover, it's a center hole. That got me wondering, so there just above the starter were the "Captains Bars " ( Ohhhhh Yeah!!!) The numbers cross to a '58-'62 block. This will be a great start for a engine build for "Thor".
