I agree with MNSmith and Hanks custodian, keep it simple. Preparation has to be perfect if you expect a perfect top coat, don't try to hide any imperfections with more paint. The PPG single stage topcoats are great. I am very happy with the acrylic enamel or the acrylic urethane, both are self gloss.
