Do what Carl says... it works.
My only advice is Do Not slam the hood until the latch mechanism aligns just right.
Been there. Done that. I had to add 1/4" rubber spacers to the radiator support bolts to lift the front up enough so it would latch (and more importantly, so it would UNlatch)
