Did you ever get the proper shouldered hinge bolts. I would stop all activity until you do. Once you do, work on getting your hood adjusted like John says. If the hinge to hood bolts aren't correct and locked in, you might be able to perfectly adjust your hood, lean on it, and it will be all out of whack again. Get the proper hardware before you begin anything. The regular bolt in the hinge link may only move an 1/8" at the hood rear corner, but can translate to an inch or more of movement at the hood latch area.
