Chevy didn't put a Powerglide transmission in a truck until 1960 and that was an open driveline vehicle.
The early car version used a torque tube but as I understand it was not compatable with the truck torque tube.
Also you would be chasing obsolete components and likely have a serious lack of power with a 216.
Lots of work and expense with no gain.
