I have springs made by Detroit Spring under my '37. They made custom spring rates to match the weight of the truck, it rides way better than it did with stock springs, I don't use it for a truck, just for cruising around. I was willing to pay more for custom made, I know they make them in Detroit, no idea where they get their steel from.
