What you described is what I was planing to do. It’s almost all bolted together with a 53 GMC two ton body. One ton axels. 33” tires fit in the front fenders without blocking up the body on the frame. Next is brake and fuel lines.
These old bolts are in my blood. Hard thing is focusing on just one.
