I'm dealing with one of the threaded shackle pins on the back end of my rear leaf springs (on a '57). The other three pins screwed out smoothe as silk. A stiff breeze could have unscrewed them. The fourth, however (left side that screws into the hangar itself) will not budge.
On the third application of heat I finally got it to break free slightly, but it will only move about 5 degrees--no further. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this much trouble with a threaded shackle pin, and if there are any tricks to getting them out?
