This is a GMC answer (I don't have the correct Chevy books) to the "most specifically the cab" part of 327AMC's question. I think the raw cab is the same between the Chevys and GMC of your era.
1950 GMC Master Parts Book lists different part numbers for 100 (1/2 ton), 150 (3/4 ton) and 250 (1 ton) cabs. Unfortunately I don't know what the difference is, but I doubt that GM would have had separate part numbers if they could have used just one.
'57 GMC 102, Original 347 V8, HydraMatic, 3.08 rear gear, added A/C, disk front brakes, HEI, AFB carb, '98 Honda Black Currant paint. T-boned and totaled 10/12 '52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.
