Drums have never been turned and there's no ridge, so they should be fine. Shoes were pretty old at the time but plenty of pad left. Hard pedal. Worth mentioning the two instances I've had fade was with 3.55 rear gears. Since then I've installed 4.11 gears which is much better around town and mountains but still don't wanna tempt fate.
