It looks like it shows a foot type starter, since other than the resistor by pass wire, all the other wires to it connect at the battery post.
Secondly the key switch would only be on or off for the ignition function.
So why does it show the resistor by pass going to the key switch?
My friends rewired 55 has no resistor by pass connected, and this is likely why.
