Yes you could disassemble the radio
And bolt only the tuning assembly with faceplate into the dash
But that would be a waste of a good parts as it will wear and get dirty and be useless as just the tuning head
There is a proper delete plate you could use instead
Or leave the hole open and hook your garage door opener and work gloves in the open hole
