Hotrod Lincoln I am seeing your point on using HEI parts in an original 6 v distributor,have a pile of Hei goodies out there. Will look at the possibilities in trying to manufacture one those,can't think of the picture of the shaft with rotor just yet without looking at it. 'Bolter Deve has done this using a mid 70's Chrysler six reluctor wheel and pickup in a tall cap Chevy distributor, an externally mounted GM HEI module and a Blaster 2 coil. I've had one of his kits on my '52 GMC 228 for about 35000 miles in 8 years. Works great.

'57 GMC 102, Original 347 V8, HydraMatic, 3.08 rear gear, added A/C, disk front brakes, HEI, AFB carb, '98 Honda Black Currant paint. T-boned and totaled 10/12 '52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.
