The only solid lift cams for small block V8's that are being made any more have such a radical profile that they're easy to recognize. Hydraulic small block cams are capable of 7K RPM and .500" valve lift or more these days. That was unheard of a few years ago. The main reason is that there are valve springs available that can control valve float at extreme speeds and prevent valve float that was once the downfall of hydraulics.
