Another dumb question--does anyone have a picture of what is necessary to hook up the throttle cable to the Rochester carb linkage on a '50 216? My cable fall just a little bit short of the accelerator rod, and I'm guessing that sometime in the past 73 years some of the linkage has gone AWOL. Don't really need the throttle cable, but would just like to have it looking original. Thanks in advance for any help.
Here's some photo's of the throttle and choke cable on my Rochester B . Note that you need to have the correct bracket . It took me awhile to find one. How about you posting a pic of what your setup looks like. It might help us , help you? Your post seemed to address the cable being too short to reached the accelerator rod, maybe you can remove the cable from the clamp, snip off the cable shield covering a short length and re-install it. This might sound silly, but be sure to pull the cable wire out of the cable shield and don't try to trim the cable with the cable wire still inside the length your trying to remove. I've found a hacksaw works great to cut the cable shield. I apologize if it seems like I'm assuming you don't know how to work with these types of cables, but actually I don't , so I'm attempting to cover all the bases. Hope this helps.
