I've never heard that. What makes a right turn different from a left turn on a farm? What tight quarters? Farms usually have all kinds of room for maneuvering.
Lock to lock your wheel turns 2 7/8 revolutions. It seems like it should be just under 1 1/2 turns from center to each lock. I think your steering gear is not centered.
When your steering wheel is turned all the way to the left, is it the steering gear that stops or are you at the steering stop on the spindle?
I'd also take some frame measurements if only to rule it out as the source of the trouble.
