Now I'm ready to install the rear seal. The crank is out. Now in my Felpro gasket kit it came with like a rope seal which is black and gets your hands dirty and the kit also came with an orange seal that is either a plastic or rubber material. Now the '59 manual says to install the rope seal and roll it into the groove using a round piece of wood which rolls. I have my block on the stand and in the rear their seams to be 2 grooves where you could put a seal. The one closest to the tranny is about 1/2 the size of the groove an inch or so in front of it. My question is, which seal goes where? All the help has been great.
