#14878 12/11/2003 4:21 AM | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 343 Member | | Member Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 343 | I just installed my rear main seal on my 261 which is the same as the 235 as far as the crank and rear seals are concerned. You only need to use the orange rubber seal in the narrower outter grove with the raised lip toward the inside of the engine. You do not need to use the rope seal, the orange rubber seal is supposed to be a better modern replacement.
