Very cool stuff using a photo. I spent lots of time in a few machine shops programming in G code, kinda tedious, but there where nice short cuts some machined offered. Scanning a photo is the way to go. And what a good idea for making rare gaskets, how about diaphragm's ?
Note when using laser stuff make sure you have quality eye protection.
