I noted the comments on the Dayton wheels and the Budd wheels. As an old truck salesman, the reason for what you're seeing is that it was an entirely regional preference. East of the Mississippi, the Dayto wheel with demountable rims was popular and westo fo the Mississippi, everything had Budd wheels. If you made a mistake in ordering a truck, you were in big trouble as it was almost impossible to sell the truck with the wrong wheels for your area. I recall buying a truck from another dealer that had Daytons on the front and Budds on the rear. I had to order another truck with Budds on the fron and Daytons on the rear and switch them. Took me two years to sell the truck with Daytons.
