Sorry I don't have any photos to send you but I can describe what you might want to do as I am very familiar with how they were built. You might want to look at the members trucks here too as I'm certain you'll find some interesting stuff.
Ok, now for the decription: 10ga mild steel troughout, i.e., floor, sides. tailgate, braces etc. 3" channel understructure for the smaller trucks like Chev & F&@ds. no more than 18" sides, 6'6" ID x 8-10' in length. Flat running boards, usually a simple tapered V brace (2) on the sides, no front post, 8" rear post with no more than 6" (4") higher front & rear over sides. 2" bang board extension pocket and one horizontal tailgate brace, fairly small in cross-section, skip welds throughout and light duty hardware. Underbody direct lift or twin arm hoist usually with cast arms, hinges, links, etc. Manifold mount pump direct to cylinder base with PTO driveline. Twin floor mounted cab levers
for PTO and valve. Small narrow cab shield usually about 12-15" over roof. There are still plenty of old hoists around that might be made operational with patience. The body can be built by you or a fabricator. It is all pretty straight-forward.
