Will a 6 volt regulator meet the requirements of an 8 volt battery?
I have an 8 volt battery in my 54 rebuild simply because I had a good one on hand. My 6v generator motors like a top when current is applied.
When running, the ammeter discharges with load but shows no charging with rpms. Jumper from ground to field terminal on the VR and ammeter shows normal operation. Is the VR simply bad or what?
