1-tons, I know went to Bendix brakes in 52 or 53. There were lots of those axles around stirpped of their brakes years ago. People put then on the earlier trucks. I brought one home thinking it was valuable in about '74. It was still sitting on the property when I sold the lot.

I know the 14-bolt drums are held on by the studs being pressed through them. I didn't know the late HO52s were that way. That makes them a lot harder to work on. I suppose I could get the hubs, backing plates and the whole shebang of the axle and swap it to mine if that would work. I think Greg did some threads on that now that I think about it. I'll look.
