Yes, I'm putting together an oxy/actetylene torch kit to heat and straighten the frame. I've been advised to stop drill the cracks, V them out and weld them up. Short welds to keep the heat down. The frame isn't all that heavy , so I wouldn't think I need to go more than 3/16" on the doubler. I was calling it a fish plate, but that is something else entirely.
