I'd weld it in place and cut it if you ever have to remove it. What's the likelihood of that? probably never.

I installed an exhaust system on my Cadillac in 2001. It came as yours did with slip fittings and clamps. I had every joint welded. It's had over 100,000 miles on it since then and I've never had to remove it for any reason.

There are no leaks, rattles, squeaks, or loose clamps to tighten. It looks a lot better, too.
