I put my Detroit Deisel's in for service at 30,000 miles, that was in the eighties with 8V-71's and 6V-92's. Loaded at 50,000 lbs. one way and 80,000 lbs. heading home. Of course they ate 2 quarts each trip so it was like a small oil change each night.
