It's been a couple years since I retired from the glass business, so I'm not 100% up on the currently available products, but personally I think I'd prefer the CRL caulk. I would run about a 1/4" bead around the perimeter of the gasket where it contacts the body, after you insert the rope. Try to stay away from the rope and lip or you'll have a mess! Kerosene or similar solvents work well to clean up any ooze outs. John
