I'm currently in the process of building a stovebolt engine with hydraulic lifters for a MOPAR big block engine. That takes some pretty creative machining, since the lifter bores have to be sleeved to a slightly smaller diameter and honed for the correct sliding fit for the lifters. The 216 and early 235 engines need to have a lifter oil gallery gun-drilled the length of the block and a higher volume oil pump installed, also.
