I just hate it when the un-initiated weld on truck frames as in the hinge area photo. It's OK behind the axle as small tack welds but NEVER, EVER on the flanges as shown.
I see some Semis with this warning posted on them, and usually refer to the frame being heat-treated.
But is this true for all trucks? Somehow I doubt that the old 'Bolts were heat-treated. And what about all the folks welding subframes onto the front end, boxing the frames, etc. etc????
