Went and got the truck on saturday afternoon. I started out by building this tow-bar out of some scrap I had. Brought the torch along and blew some holes through the front bumper, then bolted the hitch to it with some 3/4" threaded rod. A guy with a skid loader pushed it out onto the road for me.

The guy with the skid loader tried to push the bed down, but it didnt want to budge, so it got pulled home up in the air.
The trip turned out to be about 15 miles.

The tow went smoothly except for one turn when i wasnt paying attention and turned too sharp, jacknifing the pickup. Luckily the bumper only suffered minor damage.

Here are some more pics of the tilt mechanism. turns out i was wrong it does have dual action cylinders. These are the cylinders facing the rear of the truck.

Here is the pivot point. The pivot is 10.5' from the front of the bead, and located just in front of the rear axle. There is 13.5' of bed behind the pivot, making the total bed length 24'.
