I think your making a mistake by using stainless steel for push rods. Push rods are heat treated to a certain hardness. Most stainless steel is fairly soft, Stainless is tough but somewhat gummy. The ends of your push rods will probably wear. I was a machinist for 45 years or so and have machined a lot of stainless steel.
