That's a bit too much of a length difference. Does your engine have the mushroom-shaped "milk can" lifters, or the more conventional-looking ones? The newer style lifter needs a longer pushrod. Shoot me a PM with a snail mail address and a measurement of the correct pushrod and I'll send you a handful of the right length ones.
