Hy qside, you can do the job without removing the engine, you can support and raise the engine slightly from underneath with a hydraulic jack, make sure you use a piece of wood to spread the load over the surface of the oil pan. If you remove the brackets from the engine rather than lifting the engine high enough to clear everything it will be safer. There is one cushion under the crossmember as well.
