A piece of wood in the door jam and push in on the door to force hinge pillar back in place. I've heard of that 2x4 method before. My dad said it was done on the '54 Chevy Station Wagon we had when i was a kid. But if the replacement cowl was welded in with the door pillar tweaked, it would be hard to stretch that enough to work. It might kink the inner cowl panel instead.
