...I spotted a roof of a big A.D. truck from the road. I back-tracked and saw that it was a 50-53 model 6400. I went in to talk to the owner (was at a guys business) about the possiblity of selling it to me. He said that it may be for sale so I went and took a good look at it. Come to find out this truck is an ex-fire truck tanker with only 6184 miles on it. I've never seen an unrestored A.D. in this clean of a condition, although it will need alot of work mechanically due to sitting all of these years. The guy told me to throw out an offer to get it started and I told him that I didn't want to insult him by low balling him. So, I said $500.00 and the guy never balked like I expected but he also hasn't excepted it yet either. He's going to get back with me with an acceptance or counter offer soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one. I really would like to get this one out of the weather and away from the thieves that are picking it apart. Wish I had brought the camera.
