Hy Blanch53, unfortunately the 6 volt and 12 volt starter armature shafts are different diameters, so a simple swap of starter drives is not possible. The six volt starter will survive quite well on twelve volts, providing it is in good condition and that is not used to crank the engine for excessive amounts of time. Good luck with it.
