In theory, the secondary link begins to rotate at 50% throttle. Does it show any sign of damage (bent)?
Are you sure your linkage to the carburetor is not the problem?
Panic, you are correct. Upon closer examination, the secondary does start to open at half-throttle. I'm just not 'feeling' the full effect of the second barrel until closer to full-throttle. The carb itself seems to be working correctly.
I can't complain; the truck runs great down the interstate...and that's with the boom in the bed, plus a parts engine. There's just a couple of hills between me and St. Louis, where it's a challenge to keep up with traffic...which of course is running faster than the speed limit anyway!
