The Rochester's were known for warping, causing leaks. Every Rochester I've ever had or seen had stains all over it from leaks. I've had really good luck with a Zenith 228 carb from a 270 GMC that I use on my 261. But if I had a 216 or 235, I would have a Carter 2100. Ask Jerry how many warranty claims GM had back in the 50's due to the Rochester carbs.
