(1) TEST the accelerator pump to see if it is functioning. Leather pumps are impervious to ethanol, neoprene pumps are NOT. If it is not functional, replace with leather.
(2) Upgrade the ignition to points/condenser.
(3) Set the dwell with a dwell meter
(4) Reset the timing using a timing light. If you don't have one, a guaranteed 50 year-old one from Ebay (opinion) is superior to the current versions made in someplace I cannot read the name.
