More food for thought, how far is "a long distance"?
If I was going to do a coast to coast for example, I would set-up the Belair to run today's Ethanol gas.
That's a tall order and a hit on the ole wallet.
Start with the gas tank and go forward to the carburetor.
You want all parts, including the tank, to be composed of materials that do not react with Ethanol.
