Hoping to get some advice on what paint system and brand to use on my project truck. The plan is that I sand, fix any small dings, shoot primer in my garage, block sand with 400 and 600 and hand it over to a shop for final base/clear. I have it sanded down to the factory primer with areas of leftover base. There are some areas where metal is bare but I can hit that with some etch primer.
Looking for a single easy-to-use and forgiving paint system that most paint shops can work with so it can't be some random brand that shops do not use. I understand that some shops will not work with people who do their own prep work, but I can't afford to pay for a complete job. I might just have to do the whole thing myself. I did the prep on my 55 about 13 years ago and the shop was pretty impressed, but I am sure what I used then is out of date today.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
