Two carbs for a Jeep CJ-3 flathead 4 cylinder will have approximately the right volume capacity to work as a synchronized pair on a 235 engine. You will need to do some modification of the bolt spacing on the manifold as the flange size of that carb is a little narrower than the Rochester B. Brand new "clones" of the original Carter carb are available on Ebay. They're nowhere near the quality of the original equipment Carter carb, but the engine will probably run on them much better than with the Rochesters.
