I'm going to focus on US made Chevrolet trucks from 1929 to 1964, since thats what I have the data for.

Making an international "VIN cruncher" would be a huge undertaking, unless you were to find some solid data on different countries numbering schemes.. and it would take a person far more "in the know" than I to know what years had the cowl tag where, etc etc.

an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.
